Drummer since 1982.
Positive Mental Attitude.
Andy V Galeon is a Bay Area native who began drumming in the Filipino American Thrash Metal band Death Angel in 1982 as the original drummer. Galeon was 14 years old in 1986 when DA recorded their debut album, "The Ultra-Violence", had regular video airplay on MTV's Headbanger's Ball with their sophomore album video "Bored" in 1988, released a live album recorded at the Paradiso, Amsterdam in 1989, and released a Major label album on Geffen Records called "Act III" in 1990. AVG has toured North America, Europe, and Japan multiple times and has gained much live performance experience over the years. Death Angel broke up after a bus accident in late 1990 and the remaining members formed The Organization.
The Organization was a multi blend of Metal/Rock/Funk/Punk and released 2 records in the 90's, the self titled debut The Organization and Savor the Flavor. The O, toured Europe with Rob Halford's Fight, played one of the biggest Dynamo Festivals in Holland in 1994, and played many shows throughout North America.
Death Angel Reunited in 2001, and performed at the legendary Thrash of the Titans benefit concert for Chuck Billy and Chuck Schuldiner with S.O.D., Anthrax, Legacy, Forbidden, Vio-Lence, Sadus, and others. That concert prompted a resurgence of massive touring and two albums on Nuclear Blast Records, The Art of Dying and Killing Season. Galeon has independently recorded with various Bay Area artists and bands throughout the years, including Big Shrimp "Loneliness", Swarm "Devour", Depressor "The Book of the Dead" , Rob Cavestany "Lines on the Road", and End The Suffering.
In 2012, Galeon is also gigging with End The Suffering, a Metal/Punk/Thrash quartet, and can be heard on their self titled debut available on iTunes or on CD through their website. E.T.S. is actively performing, most recently having shared the stage with Prong, Skitzo, and Victim's Family.
In 2013, AVG joined San Francisco Political Punk Rockers The NERV, who are gearing up to record their 3rd album. Look for The NERV to be gigging with a much anticipated show with the Dickies in SF on July 27th. Their brand of high energy Punk Rock and vocalist Nis Anthrope's catchy melodies and brutal screams make this a perfect fit for Galeon's aggressive and powerful drum style.
Early in 2014, Galeon joined forces with the Bay Area heavy rock band SpiralArms, who are a blend of true-blooded rock, heartfelt soul, and heavy organic metal. The band is fronted by singer/songwriter Tim Narducci of Systematic and guitarist Craig Locicero of Forbidden/Man Made God who have been writing together since 2004, had a highlight performance at the Graspop Festival in Belgium in 2007 even before their debut album Highest Society was released in 2010. The new album Freedom released in 2013 is a sonic blend of rock, blues, and metal and the singles Dropping Like Flies, Drugs and Alcohol and now a 3rd single/video for Exit 63 out now on SPV/Steamhammer.
SpiralArms will be touring in support of Freedom in 2014 and hope to see at a show soon.
AVG is currently giving Drum Lessons and Gigging all over the place.
